Teacher CV Format for Pakistan: A Full Sample and What to Write

Three teacher CV formats for Pakistani schools made on ChatWrapper

A principal reading teacher CVs between classes looks for three things in the first few seconds: which subjects, which classes, and which qualification. A good teacher CV format puts those at the top, then backs them up with experience and marks.

Quick answer: the best teacher CV format for Pakistan is one to two pages: name and contact, a three-line teaching profile, subjects and classes taught, teaching experience (school, city, years, what you taught), an education table with board, year and marks, your B.Ed or M.Ed, skills, and languages. Add a photo for school jobs. A full sample is below.

What to put in a teacher CV, in this order

  1. Name and contact: mobile number (with WhatsApp), email, city. CNIC and father's name only if the school or a government form asks for them.
  2. Teaching profile: three lines on what you teach and how you teach it.
  3. Subjects and classes: for example "Mathematics and Physics, Classes 6–10 (Matric), Punjab Board".
  4. Teaching experience: newest first, with school, city, years and classes.
  5. Education: a table with degree, board or university, year and marks or CGPA.
  6. Professional qualification: B.Ed, M.Ed, ADE or a Montessori diploma.
  7. Skills: classroom management, lesson planning, MS Office, Google Classroom, smart boards.
  8. Languages: English, Urdu and any regional language.

If you are also preparing a one-page form for a school or government office, our teacher biodata format guide covers that version.

A teacher CV with a profile, subjects, teaching experience and an education table

Teacher CV with no experience

Every teacher starts somewhere. If you are a fresh graduate, move education and teaching practice to the top and make them work harder:

  • List your B.Ed teaching practice: school, classes and subject.
  • Count home tuition and academy classes as teaching. "Taught Matric Chemistry to 12 students, 2023–2025" is real experience.
  • Add volunteer teaching, Quran classes or teaching younger cousins for board exams if it was regular.
  • End the profile with "Available for a demo lesson". Schools like confidence.

Our guide to a CV for fresh graduates has more ideas for filling a first CV honestly.

A government-style CV for a teaching post with father's name, domicile and an education table

Private school, government post or abroad?

  • Private schools and academies: photo expected, one to two pages, subjects and classes on top. Mention board results if they are good.
  • Government posts and STI: stick to facts. Marks, degrees, B.Ed and CNIC matter more than design. For Punjab's teacher internships, read our STI Jobs 2026 guide: the online profile is the application, but bring a printed CV or biodata to the interview. The Government CV design fits these well.
  • International schools and jobs abroad: no photo, no CNIC, no father's name. Lead with curriculum experience (Cambridge, IB, IGCSE) and results.

Common teacher CV mistakes

  • "Teacher" with no subject. Always name your subjects and classes.
  • Hiding the B.Ed at the bottom. It is one of the first things schools check.
  • No marks or board. Pakistani schools compare marks, so include them.
  • Four pages of duties. Two lines per job: classes taught and one result.
  • A blurry phone photo of a printed CV sent on WhatsApp. Send a proper PDF instead.
  • Spelling mistakes in an English teacher's CV are fatal. Read it aloud once.

If a school's online portal is screening applications, check how your CV reads to software with the free ATS resume checker.

Making a teacher CV on a phone and downloading it as a PDF

Sending your CV on WhatsApp, and the demo lesson

Most private schools now collect CVs on WhatsApp or by email after posting a vacancy on Facebook. A few small things decide whether yours gets opened:

  • Send a PDF, named properly: "Sana-Iqbal-Maths-Teacher-CV.pdf", not "scan0012.pdf".
  • Write two lines with it: the post you are applying for, your subjects and classes, and that you are available for a demo lesson.
  • Send it once during school hours, not at midnight, and don't forward the same message to every number on the ad.

A message that works:

Assalam o Alaikum. I am applying for the Mathematics teacher post (Classes 6–10). I have a BS Mathematics and a B.Ed, and 4 years of Matric teaching experience. My CV is attached. I am available for a demo lesson any day this week. Sana Iqbal, 0300 0000000

If you are called for a demo lesson, prepare one topic from your subject for 10–15 minutes: a clear start, board work, two or three questions to the class, and a quick recap. Bring a printed copy of your CV and your degrees, because the coordinator often reads them while you teach.

Make your teacher CV on your phone

You don't need a laptop or Word. On the ChatWrapper CV maker you type your details once, see a live preview, switch between 8 free designs without retyping, and download a PDF. The photo, CNIC and father's name are optional, so the same details work for a private school, a government post or a job abroad. Keep the PDF on your phone, and when a school posts a vacancy you can send it in a minute.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best CV format for a teaching job in Pakistan?

A one or two page CV with your contact details, a short teaching profile, the subjects and classes you teach, your teaching experience, an education table with board, year and marks, your B.Ed or M.Ed, and skills. A photo is common for school jobs but optional.

How do I write a teacher CV with no experience?

Lead with your degree, B.Ed teaching practice, tuition or academy classes and any volunteer teaching. Name the subjects and classes you can teach, and say you are ready for a demo lesson.

Should a teacher CV have a photo?

For most private schools in Pakistan a recent passport-size photo is expected. For international schools abroad, leave it out unless the job ad asks for one.

What is the difference between a teacher CV and a teacher biodata?

A biodata is a one-page form with personal details, used for school and government applications. A CV is a little longer and tells the story of your teaching: profile, experience, achievements and skills. Many schools accept either.

How long should a teacher CV be?

One page for fresh teachers and up to two pages for experienced teachers. Principals read quickly, so put subjects, classes and qualifications on the first half of page one.
